Sorry to revive an old post.
I also pulled apart the wires from the cam sensor connector.
Unfortunately, I am also having troubles opening up the terminal and I was wondering how to get it opened up to rewire the connector. Also, I will need to solder the wires and need to know the gauge of the wires.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

 

I have the same problem except I have a 2008 IS 350 and the wires are blue, white, and red w/ blue stripe. Anybody have a picture with these wire colors

I realize this thread is a little dated, but as I just made the same repair I thought I would add a little for those facing the same work in the future.
I too had pulled the yellow lead from the connector. My solution was to replace the connector housing and the wires. Connector housing part number is 90980-12353, was $7.53. Wires with pins attached were about 200mm long, part number 82998-24250, cost was $7.50 each. I cut them to about 4" (100mm) then stripped them. Cut the leads from the old connector, stripped a quarter inch, tinned all, slipped on heat shrink then soldered together and heat shrinked connections. The parts were ordered from the local Toyota dealer, they did not have them in stock but had them the next day. For a total of $32.39 at the dealer it was a pretty easy repair. Someone asked what gauge the wire was, I would guess 22. Good luck!

Same happened on mine when I replaced the spark plugs: a wire on this same camshaft sensor broke, a wire on the engine temp sensor, and one of the wires going to the ignition coil #1. I replaced both connectors on the coil and camshaft sensor (major PITA working between the engine and firewall) and was able to solder the wire on the engine temp sensor...

Btw, the colors are not consistent across the model years, I went by wire position in the connectors to rewire the two...

 

I recently bought this car and while I managed to clear all the codes, i am getting p0368 Camshaft position sensor B, Bank 1 error. This sensor, i believe is the second sensor below the driver side air box (below the first sensor and towards the firewall). When I was trying to remove this sensor, I saw that all the pins were loose and the wires just came out with the pins. I bought the new connector but the problem is that I cant identify which wire from the connector should I connect to the wires in the harness. The car harness wires are blue, green and blue with yellow with blue strip. The connector I bought from auto recycler has different colored wires. I need help to know which wire from the car wiring (blue, green and blue with yellow with blue strip) should be connected to the wires of the camshaft connector. For example, starting from engine side, should it be blue, then green in middle and yellow with blue strip outside? I have attached picture of the wiring of the car and also the new connector. Appreciate any help I can get on this.

Sorry if im quite late with this thread, but my car, a 2007 es has this same problem, showing p0365 code too, soo basing from this thread most of the time the connector is all i need to replace and not the sensor?
