Default Code scanner for es350

My VSC and check engine light is on again in my 2007 ES350. I'm sure it's another coil pack and was looking at purchasing a INNOVA 3160B. My question is will it tell me which cylinder is misfiring? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bill

Any inexpensive code reader will tell you what coil is bad.

Just out of curiosity, what did you use in the end? (I mean, to read and reset the code) Did you need anything Lexus-specific, or was it just a generic OBD2 scanner (or app)?

I used a INNOVA 3160B that I recently purchased for $225 but a cheap one will work too like a (ACTRON CP9125). If you purchase on get it on ebay. I just wanted one that does ABS/SRS as well. If you go to any parts store in AL they will scan it for you, but once you fix it yourself they will not reset it for you. So, that's why I had to purchase one. I hope this helps.

Got it. In your case it was just an engine thing, so any OBD2 scanner would have been fine, including the cheap ELM327 bluetooth dongles coupled with an Android app. Btw, there are now Android apps (actually 1 app) that can access ABS, SRS and all other Toyota/Lexus ECUs as well. Just FYI.

Just FYI guys, the Android app that can do Lexus-specific diagnostics is called Carista OBD2, available on Google Play Store. It covers all ECUs, not just the OBD2-compatible ones. And as a bonus, you can also change your LPS with it.
