Default Check Engine, Check VSC and Master Warning light

I have a 2008 ES 350 with 63K miles. This morning when I started it, I got the Check Engine, Check VSC and Master Warning Light (red triangle). The slip indicator light is also illuminated.

I've seen some other threads about the Check VSC and Check Engine lights, but none of them mentioned the Master Warning light or the slip indicator.

I tried tightening the gas cap as suggested in some threads, but the lights still came back on.

I'm not particularly smart about cars, so I was hoping to get an idea before I call the dealer. Thanks to anyone who can help...

got that issue a few months ago, turned out the O2 sensor is defected and replace, no more than 250.00 total part (aftermarket) and labor. Plus, a rescan and reset. Easy issue to fix.

Whenever a check engine light comes on, the car will disable VSC and traction control, hence the '3 amigos' you're seeing.

Go to an Autozone or Advance auto parts and they'll read the code for free. Post it here, and we can help you further without having to pay dealer diagnostic fees.

Is the car doing anything out of the ordinary? Running rough, etc.?

We had and still have this issue with 07 es350. It threw a P0138 code. Which was a O2 sensor, Bank 1 Sensor 2. The service shop replaced just yesterday. They said it tested bad. Theses lights came back on again last night when wife was driving home from work. Ive been reading different posts, should I try fuel cap now? It clicks but not a real defined click, if that makes sense.

Thanks for the help

With the following description of the P0138 code, why would you change the fuel cap?

Possible causes
- Faulty Rear Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1
- Rear Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 harness is open or shorted
- Rear Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 circuit poor electrical connection
- Intake air leaks
- Exhaust gas leaks
- Inappropriate fuel pressure
- Faulty fuel injectors

If the same code came back call the shop that repaired the car and tell them they did not fix the problem. If the part tested bad and you get the same code back then they did not fix the problem. Try to get someone to check the code before you take it back to see if it is the same problem.

Ill be in touch with the shop first thing in the morning. Im not done with them: I pulled the code after light came back. Its the same code as before. But sounds like it can be a number of things as MikePA stated. So the mystery problem remains. Car runs the same with light off as it does on.
