Default Cracked LCD Screen

My LCD screen is cracked (really cannot see it) and it has caused the touch screen to be out of alignment with touch commands. I took it my dealer and they ordered an entire new head unit, they called me in to have it installed then told me they could not install because the screen was cracked and was not covered, so they told me they could order another screen. I got a called and they told me the screen was in but it was $3064 (screen itself was $2700) to have it installed. I cannot believe it cost this much and it was a $2000 option, is there a manufacturer that sells the screens at a lower cost than what Lexus is charging or am I S.O.L.?

I called corporate and they offered to take 10% off.

WOW. Almost worth trading it in and hoping no one notices.

I'm just curious to know how something like this happened!

Was it due to extreme cold temps or something? Or did your kid chuck a toy at it from the backseat?

Sorry for your misfortune... but odds are you're probably stuck paying for it through the dealer.

Aside from finding a used one, probably your only hope of getting it any cheaper...

That seems to be the new American Way

Didn't think of that - but this is probably your best bet. I'm sure it'll still be over a grand, but it sure beats the dealer price!

Check out eBay item #140647521648

Or take a gamble with this for waaaay less: Item # 230675066718

Default Cracked Screen

Cracking the screen is a nightmare as all the functions are done through it. I have a spare screen unit you can have for £300 (I have photos if you require)
I have a spare because I had to replace my Nav module, and ending up buying a complete NAV console from a breakers for £650

Let me know if you are interested. Unit is from a 2006 GS300

If you choose to go the used route, you may have some options. We recently bought a used GX470 and found the LCD screen and just about all the software that drives the functions seems almost identical to our ES.

You may be able to find a used head unit or screen from a totally different vehicle that will fit in your ES. However, given how much these things are worth, be sure to do your homework and determine which are compatible.
