I would have the dealer take a look. We have identical cars, and I've had NO issue with volumes changing appreciably from SAT, AM/FM or IPod.

Same here. No difference in volume level. The XM sound quality isn't the best but volume is consistent.

really? I have my 1000 mile checkup this week and will mention it then. Got Ventureshield put on today by the way, now I can breathe easy that no rock chips will ruin the paint!

hmmmm, interesting.... I assumed it was normal for volume to be different from FM -- Sattelite, it is definitely a big difference betw the two...may have to go to dealer and have it checked out..thks for feedback .

Just a further thought (and I could easily be wrong), but I think that the program that allows you to compensate for increased wind noise, etc. is tied to whatever mode you are in. It might be worth checking it on each mode of operation to see if it is set the same.

Also, be sure to check your bass, mid, treble settings as they depend upon what source (i.e. XM, FM, CD etc) you are listening to (at least that is the way it works on my '07). Could it be possible that you have turned up the bass, mid, treble on the FM and have it set lower on the XM?

I know on the '07's they had a problem with the AUX and SAT volume levels being lower than they should be, but I thought they had that resolved since then.

I checked out my '07 Impala SS radio - FM versus XM - actually, the XM came off as slightly louder than FM.

Thanks to this forum I was able to save about $80 on the one year XM subscription. I just called and asked for the $77 package. After a year they auto renew at the higher rate so I just need to call and renegotiate then. Since they don't do 'contracts' anyone who renewed at the higher rate can call and get the rate reduced. Thanks!
