If you think your tires are still safe to use, then I'd just wait until spring. But having good tires in the bad weather conditions is all about the safety of the occupants of the car. I'd sacrifice a little tire life to make sure my family is riding on good, safe tires.

Thanks greenchile. I just may wait till spring. I'm the only one in this car, and I drive it about 75 miles a week. Just back and forth to work. But I just have the urge to get myself some new tires, lol.

No reason to wait, winter isn't going to hurt the new tires.

Only thing that might be worth waiting for is the periodic $70 Michelin rebate, if its not out right now.

OK, just got back from Costco. I got the Michelin Primacy MXV4 93v. The rebate was active and they discounted it at the register, so nothing to send in. $774 out the door. Now for my alignment, the Lexus dealer has a special going on right now, $150. Or I could go to Firestone and get an alignment for $79, or a lifetime alignment (2 per year if needed) for $170. What do you think, dealer or Firestone?

I'd have the dealer align it just being that I've had issues with it being done right the first time at places like Firestone...

Yeah that was my thinking too, besides I need the NYS inspection too, so I can kill 2 birds with one stone. I was able to get an appointment for first thing tomorrow morning.

Well they handled great and felt smooth and quiet on the 3 mile ride from Costco to my home My old tires were the oem Bridgestone Turanzas. The car sat in my garage for about a year without any activity whatsoever. So when I started driving it again, the tires had flat spots on them that took a couple of hundred miles to round out. Still, I got over 44k miles from them, so I have no complaints.

My car has a full size spare on an aluminum wheel, this wheel was never put into the tire rotation as it should have been. So for me, I just need the 4, since the spare has zero miles on it. I did check my spare and it holds air well and doesn't exhibit any dry rot.
