Default New to site, Lexus decision

I am trying to make a decision on an 06 es330 or 07 es350. What are the differences? Where can I find information on reliability of each year Lexus? How can I find out the value of each car when it was new?
If I am buying CPO is the 3 year or 100K miles warranty free or is it an additoinal expense. At CarMax, I was told that I would have to pay an additional $3K for this warranty but when I read some information on line, I got the impression that it was included in the cost of the car. So which is correct - included or extra? If the 3 yrs 100K warranty is included, then would an additional after market warranty be warranted? Is it a lot more expensive to have a Lexus worked on than other foreign brand automobiles as I have a US brand? Any advice that you can send my way would be greatly appreciated as I have driven a Lexus and really like the way that it handles.

Also the Lexus that I drove has a panoramic view window, any pros or cons on this setup?

Welcome to the boards! The 06 ES 330 was the last production year of the 4th gen ES, while the 07 was the first year of the 5th gen. IMO, there is the possibility that the 07 model, being one of the first off production, may not be as solidly built as say an 08 ES 350. That being said, the 08 ES 350 has more power, the panorama roof option, etc. The interiors have similarities and differences:

Thanks for the info, is there a thread on the models differences and reliability ? i too is now considering a ES instead of the GS of the panoramic roof and the nice dash.

To me, the previous gen ES was quieter and the interior style was more "rich." The exterior was a bit dowdy.

The current gen ES is more powerful but seems slightly louder in engine noise. The interior is less "rich" but much more modern. The exterior is sharper, more youthful and has lower-profile tires and a stiffer suspension.

I have had the pleasure of driving both generations, and I had once owned an '08 ES350, so I think I can give you my experience with both. Aside from cost, it's really up to your preferences as the two generations are rather different.

Initially, it was all GS for me for the AWD and exterior look, but the dash is hummmmmmm, too plain. Never in my mind i would consider a ES, but now , after seeing the panoramic glass roof, nice oval central console (it looks weird at first), the large trunk and back seats, it looks more interesting for me, accept no AWD

Yes, could you elaborate on the different years of production and good/bad of each and finally which generation is you pick ?

thank you and hoping to learn some more on the ES.
