Was going to post this on the IS forum but thought all Lexus owners could benefit from this. I have an 06 IS250 with 40K. My warranty was about to expire so I read alot of threads on to buy the Lexus Platinum warranty or not. I decided I wanted the warranty because of Nav, CD changer and amp/sub problems. My local dealer quoted me $2100 for a 3 year 100K 0 ded.. I contacted Toby Rivers of Lexus of Shreveport and got a 3 year 75K 0 ded. Lexus Platinum warranty and saved 1K....I could not believe by reading CL's threads saved me a grand This is the same warranty all Lexus dealers sell....good at any Lexus dealer. And now I have peace of mind in case anything breaks on my car. I am in no way affiliated with them. Just want to save other Lexus owners some money. Toby's number is 1-800-335-3987. All that is required is your VIN, mileage and CC.

i believe it. some dealers would rather sell less warranties and make more for each one they sell or sell as many as they can at a cheap price. Another person you can try is Troy at Greenfield Toyota. I personally purchased a Lexus Platinum Warranty from him for about half what my dealer wanted to charge. i havent had to use the warranty yet (i guess thats good ) but i got all the documentation in the mail in less than 5 business days. here is his contact info if anyone is interested:

nope. car needs to be under warranty before purchasing an extended warranty.

after getting the platinum warranty, I was going thru paper work and it says its NOT transferable ... so basically it doesn't increase the resale value of the car...

just an update... i actually had to use my extended warranty this weekend and had no problems. and it saved me from spending $1k

not sure what you got, but the one i purchased from Troy is fully transferable

FYI
On many of these warranties, if example you buy 7 years, and after 6 years sell car, you are due a partial refund.
On some, if you have good fortune to never use it, whole warranty refundable.
