Hi all, does anyone's ES have problems starting on the first try?

Mine's an 08, 1 yr old and 12K miles, and it's past the coldest times of the year here in California (which isn't even that cold).

Once in a while, not every day, it fails to start on the first try in the morning. Second try gets it going, and this would happen again on some other morning. Happened about 3 times so far, within the span of 10 or so days. Anyone with a similar experience?

Thanks

No issues thus far. Make sure to record the problem on video before you go to the dealer in case they are not able to duplicate. They will send you on your way if they can't duplicate. Definitely should not be experiencing this problem with 12K. Something is wrong.

Never had any problems.I have an 09 level III, it starts right up on first hit. You should pay a visit to the dealer, they could still find something even though it's intermittent....

My parents were having a problem with the starter in Florida. They would be stranded sometimes for 5-10 minutes. They brought it in and the dealer was clueless- they kept the car for a month! Good news for you is that the fix is now documented in the system. Definitely take it in.

I had a similar problem with my 07 just not starting right away on the first try occassionaly and I mentioned it at my next service. They tested the battery, said it was failing, replaced it and the problem has not happened again. Might be worth a try.

The issue I discussed seems to have been resolved. After a few failed attempts to service it, they did a full battery replacement and it seems to have held up.

Interesting...aren't the batteries supposed to hold up longer than this, or could it be defective?

Well, I no longer have my ES (sold it upon hitting hard times) but if the current owner asks about this problem then I may have the answer for her.

weird that the dealer said it was a failing battery...My service rep said that this past weekend, he had another es, same year, with the same problem. They had also replaced the starter button.
