Default Reset the maint light?

Is there any way to manually reset the ES350 serice/oil maintenance notification (2007 model)? I know on some other vehicles if you push in the trip odometer while standing on your head and reciting some ancient hymn it would reset. Just don't know if there is an equivalent means of doing it myself or I need to take it to the dealer.

Thanks.

Yes, you can do it yourself - the instructions are on page 287 of the owner's manual.

Turn the engine off.

While pressing the trip odometer reset button, set the ignition switch to IG/ON. Hold the trip odometer reset button until the display indicates the maintenance notification has been reset.

That's it.

It is actually more tricky than it stated in owner's manual. To reset maintenance light, follow these steps:

1. Set trip to A by pushing in the stem under the speedometer.

2. Shut off ignition.

3. Press in stem and hold as you push start button twice (do not put foot on brake).

4. After seeing a row of 0000000 from odometer, release stem.

5. Start ignition, it will go through check and light will be out.

I actually follow the light's instructions and get my oil changed every 5K when it illuminates. Then, reseting the light is the mechanic's problem.

And, I have the Toyota dealer do it for more than half the price of Lexus

The IMPORTANT part here is step #1. If you are not in the "A" trip it will not work.
