I did my ES and GS with 35% front and rear sides + 25% on the rear window only. Sounds strange but it looks good IMO.
Hey Robert, Could you please reduce the size of the pictures of your GS?
It's distorting the entire thread.....not only do I have to scroll up and down, but I have to scroll left and right. The maximum width should be about
800 pixels for each photo. Thank you.
Those look a little light for 35%, are you certain about the percentage?
Positive. Like I said, that day was extremely bright. It was during summer when the temperature was around the 100s and that picture was taken around noon. On top of that, the sunroof was wide open and my interior is cashmere which is a lot brighter than black leather.
Here's what it kinda looks like during an overcast.
I know it's not overcast in the picture. It's bright today as well and not a cloud in sight but I tried to simulate an overcast. It does give you a pretty good idea of what it would look like. Darker inside the car and the tint becomes more reflective (like a mirror).
During a real overcast, it'll be even harder to see inside.

It looks darker when the ambient lighting (e.g. daylight) is dark/gray/overcast than if it was a bright sunny day. Based on the two pics you posted, it would appear that both of your pics were taken under not-so-sunny conditions--thus the reason why your 35% tint looks darker than the one in wangjt's first pic.
I know that ambient lighting can affect how dark/light tint shade can appear...especially tint that's lighter than say, 20%--I have 35% on my ES and on a sunny day the tint looks lighter (to somewhat exaggerate in order to get my point across, it looks more like 50% than 35%) than it does when I view it under overcast conditions.
Now it could very well be possible that wangjt's tint isn't truly 35% but generally speaking, ambient lighting can indeed affect how light/dark tint appears when looking at it from the outside.
Solarguard has a lifetime warrenty and never peeled, faded, or bubbled for me and I had it on 4 of my cars. Better tint comes with a price, but it is worth it.

Here in Vegas the cops don't mind what your tint is...you could have limo tint all around and the cops won't say Boo. Its soooo bright and hot here you need dark tint!
