Default oil change help

I need to change the oil on my '07 ES350. What is the torque of the oil drain plug? Thanks.

just tighten it to a point where it won't leak... you don't need to set foot pound on the plug...

just spin it on by hand until it's tight then use the wrench to snug it

You dont want it to be any tighter than a 10 year old girl could tighten it with a 12" wrench.

Now if only the oil filter housing cap was tightened on as low as that--man, even w/ the oil filter cap wrench I could not apply enough torque to loosen the cap w/o the cap wrench slipping around the cap itself.

You need a band type of compression oil filter wrench. Lots of those cap wrenches just wont grip

Especially with the way the new oil filters are located, the cap wrenches are hard to use.

Default Oil filter

Hi All,

I seem not able to find the oil filter even looking straight up from down under where the oil pan position. Does anyone have a picture to show ?

Thanks

Can you recommend a particular/specific one and where I can buy such a wrench? I tried one of those adjustable rubber strap ones--there's just not enough clearance to situate the strap around the canister so that the wrench handle will turn freely.

Thanks!

It's the roughly 2 3/4" diameter round cylindrical-like object w/ a small square opening (IIRC 3/8") in the center of it, located underneath and near the front right tire. If you see something that looks like how a metallic-looking/colored oil filter hanging upside down (or right-side up?) would look like--then you've found it.
