How do they figure out how much your payment drops from putting down the 5k. Do they give you a really small interest rate on the lease?

I'm leasing through LFS, but like I said I'm getting the car for close to cost. My dealer just ran the numbers with several different scenarios. I'm really not sure how they crunched the numbers, but this method was suggested by him as a way to keep monthly payments down.

It should be noted that I also talked the Acura dealer into doing something similar. If anyone is interested, they are practically giving away '06 TL's. I had my dealer at $400/mo with $1,000 down without much haggling. There were literally about 85 TL's on the lot. I realize that the TL is a very different approach than the ES, but it's still a great car that's fun to drive.

This is a lease quote I received from a dealer. (It was the lowest I received out of 4 dealerships.) I know I can probably negotiate lower than this when I get there. But I would like to know what you think?

2007 ES350 UL Package
36 Months
15,000 miles
MSRP: $43,788.00
Residual Value (60%) $26,272.80
Dealer Cost (Supposedly): $38,563.00
Selling Price: $39,763.00
Total Cap Cost: $40,363.00
Vehicle Mark-up: $1,200.00
Buy Rate (Money Factor): .00275 (I have been quoted .00265 elsewhere but the monthly payment wasn't as low for some reason.)
Payment $574.64 + 8.25% Tax + $622.05

I know people don't recommend putting money down but maybe just a little would get the payment down even further.

I will keep in mind the multiple security deposit option, if my dealer will allow it.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Default i like that deal

i think that is a fair lease price with no cap reduction. i have leased all my cars and i've come to the realization that $150 for each $10,000 is a good ballpark lease price for 15k miles over 3 years, and your deal falls right in there. you MIGHT be able to get it a little lower, but for a new model that just came out, it seems fair. you might be able to shave a few bucks per month if youre stingy though. good luck and let us know how it turns out!

I mean, if you prefer an ES350 over an E-class then I guess more power to you - I would prefer the ES if I had to own it - but for a lease, who cares about reliability short of it leaving you stranded...
Thats exactly what i was thinking

I spent some time over the past week in a MB E350. I can tell you it was singularly uninspiring. The A/C barely works, the doors sound tinny, the audio system is pathetic and the nav is, well, how shall I put this...."a joke?"
Believe me, car to car with money not being a factor you couldn't get me to take the E350 over the ES350 unless you had a gun pointed at my head.

I was choosing between 3 cars. The BMW 330i, the MB E350, and of course, the Lexus ES 350. I narrowed it down to the MB E350. Searching the entire so California inventory, there was still no way to get everything I wanted on it. Things that bothered me included the bluetooth capabilities. (Non-exisitent). I could get the Panorama roof (a plus) and I could get bi-xenon headlights (a big plus, since the ES 350 only has low beam HID headlights). But other than that, there was no real comparison for me.

So I'm really not quite sure what you are saying. Did (do) you like the MB better than the ES or not?

Could you develop your thoughts a bit more clearly?

Hi.
Received this quote the other day for the premium package in NY:
Term of 36, 12k per year mileage
MSRP is 37,424
Selling price is 35,716
Residual value is 23,202 or 62% (until 6/30/2006)
Money factor is .002550
Payment is $498
*All other stuff like tax, bank fee, conveyance, plates are to be paid up front (not in pmt)

Thoughts?

Also, I think the RV percent is now 60 (on 12k miles/year). Does anyone know the money factor now?

Thanks,
SammyS

I actually liked the drive of the MB over the ES. And I felt there was more luxury in the MB. But the ES had all the bells and whistles for me. Yet, if the MB had the same accessories, I would have probably gone with the MB. However, Lexus has me for several more years and I am pleased with my 2nd ES. The think I am probably most happy about is that I feel Lexus has corrected the transmission issues I have my 2002 ES 300.
