I used a heat gun and a plastic scraper (shown below) too, as well as gasoline (instead of adhesive remover; not because it's better; I just had some for a lawn mower).

Thank you for the link! I just purchased those scrapers for when I get around to removing my film.
I undertook the tedious endeavor of removing my old cracked paint protection film from another vehicle of mine. It was very brittle and cracked into a million little pieces.
Those plastic razor blades worked great.
It took a long time to remove the film. nearly 6 hours. I am currently waiting for the RapidTac Rapid Remover adhesive remover to arrive. I tried using Goo Gone but it did not work.
Here is a link to a quick video that I made of the process. It includes links to the plastic razors and Rapid Remover:
On the left side of this picture you can see the adhesive that remains after the film is scraped off. The area to the right is what the old cracked film looks like before I have touched it.
@Jlacy I just purchased a 2015 Lexus ES 350 about two months ago, and the previous owner had this all over the car doors, handles, and back bumper.
Since you're at the final stage, what I would recommend is an aerosol can of 3M Adhesive Remover, which worked miraculously and very quickly.
When I removed PPF from my Pontiac I used steam and Eulex for the residue. Look for videos on PPF removal... I saw one where they used towels soaked in very hot water in place of steam but steam is the best way. A cheap clothes steamer will work fine, I have a canister type steamer but a hand held should work ok for the small trunk bumper area. Eulex may be hard to find and for that small of an area try adhesive remover (goo gone?) and for something stronger brake cleaner (used very carefully) works but Eulex is best and won't harm the paint.
