Default Pulled the trigger…2019 bumper conversion

Just purchased it, he said that the clips provided are what make it work for all the years 2007-2012. For the 07-09 the fitment is perfect, can’t speak for 10-12. There is one other style still on eBay for 2019+ conversion, but it didn’t have the fog lights so I opted for this one.

New bumper vs real version

Kit actually purchased (comes with grill pieces)

Other kit still on eBay (no fogs as far as I know)
. ($899 as of now)

Dope!!! I can't wait to see the outcome! Wonder if they have a headlight conversion? I loooove the new ones with the led strip at the bottom. I have the 08 too and have been considering this as well. Please post after pictures! 😍 😍 😍 😍

finally somebody as excited as me!!!! I’m still in the process of prep before I take it to get paint. I JUST found some headlights on AliExpress that completely modernize it, however, they’re like $900. I’ll post a pic. I’m actually going to replace my headlight lenses, they’re all cracked as heck. While I do that, I’m going to black out the chrome housing. Hopefully looks good on silver, but very excited. Waiting on lenses from China, should be all wrapped up within a month I hope!

Those headlights will not fit the ES unless you get the custom bumper, and they don't sell them for the ES350 anymore, only the 250, and no one clarifies that it will fit right.

The bumpers themselves usually are not flush, someone has a thread somewhere with pics, it isn't flush with the hood and has an awkward sudden straight edge. Hard to explain.

Wow, the headlights fit without the bumper? All the conversion kits said otherwise, maybe a way to make you buy the bumper.

ohhh I think I was confused. No I didn’t buy headlights, I only bought $100 headlight covers (just the plastic) for my 2008 cause they were cracked as **** (and the AFS so expensive to replace), and then replaced lens/painted them and put the Lexus sticker inside. But my 2008 headlights fit with the custom bumper. The custom bumper had some kind of conversion plastic clips or something to make it work with both headlights, but I didn’t end up using them so I assume they are for the 2010-12 years. Hope this clears anything up. Also, the bumper only looks weird from that one funky angle I posted wayyyyy back, fitment is pretty good and wouldn’t ever go back to original- just my opinion tho cheers

Did your front sensor work with the new conversion bumper?

yep just plucked it out of the old one and popped it into the new one! It’s kinda tricky you have to take off a locking mechanism on the backside then twist it to get it out or something, but yes it fit just fine. However there were rectangle cutouts for headlight washing things (on foreign models) that I had to fill, but you can buy little covers that you just paint if you don’t wanna go through that trouble

Ok great. Not really understanding what you mean by the rectangle cutouts for the headlight washing. Also how much did you purchase the bumper for? The one on ebay he wanted for around 900.

look at the eBay pics and you should see the cutouts if it shows pics of unfinished bumper, they are right below the headlights.

however: there are a ton of hidden costs. Such as getting someone to paint it, all the screws and **** (it doesn’t come with hardware, pain in the ***)
the Lexus emblem, which if you get the correct one costs $200 or something, I got the generation logo before that and costs $50, but doesn’t fit perfectly but you’ll never see it just looking at it. Also if you want the rear one to match it, costs more. Those little covers cost $50 and you gotta get them from AliExpress from China, so shipping time involved cause you need to have them before you paint because they don’t come painted. Plus $20 ish for hardware and assorted screws and that was a pain making sure I had correct sizing. I’m sure you can pay a shop to do all that stuff, I only had them paint. So it can get pretty pricey pretty quick. And when you’re just looking at the bumper it’s hard to take everything into consideration. It’s a job for sure.
