Default 02 ES ignition and locks.

I bought my car used from a private buyer. I have one key that only locks/unlocks the door and another that will only start the car, will not lock/unlock the doors. I took the car to the Toyota dealer(no Lexus dealer here) and they said they think that the ignition cylinder had been changed out and they couldn't help me(they worked on it for a good 45 minutes for free so can't complain about that). The ignition key has the keyless entry buttons, is there any way to get the keyless entry working? I've tried every tutorial I've found on getting my car into programming mode with no success. The keyless entry on the door key doesn't work either.

Hello,

Haven't found any writeups on the subject, but it is possible to dismantle the ignition lock up to a core and replace separate wafers to get all the locks to work with only one key, here you can find re-key kit on sale. As for reprogramming, traditional methods don't seem to work on those cars, so you will likely need a Mini-VCI cable to program a new key into the system, below is the video on how to do that.

Hope this helps and best of luck!
