I just tried locking and shutting the doors but noticed the inside light did not go out immediately like usual, it stayed on for 15 seconds then shut off. My alarm does not turn on as well. I tried this numerous times and still not working. What am I doing wrong?
As tex pointed out, you didn't say the age or type of vehicle. It's normal for the headlights/parking lights, instrument-lighting, and inside dome lights of many modern vehicles to stay on for abut 10-15 seconds after the doors are shut and locked....I wouldn't concern myself with that.
Also, what do you mean when you say the alarm will not "turn on?" Are you referring to pressing the red button on the key-fob? If so, that could (?) be something as simple as the battery in the fob being weak and needing replacement.
