00-01 optional HID assemblies
Looking for replacement HID headlight assemblies for a 2001 Lexus ES300 Coach Edition. I know these were optional for two years only (00-01), so maybe they are unobtainium. Tired of trying to refinish mine, and do not want to pay $200 each for something "just as good" from a junkyard. Do new pieces exist?
Also, do the "standard" non-sunroof 97-01 ES300's actually exist? Obviously not something that would be sitting in dealer inventory, but what if somebody ordered a new one and really hated sunroofs? Can't say I have ever seen one.

I've seen pictures of the zero optioned ES300's. Sunroof and leather were technically an option that few didn't get.
New lamp assembly from Lexus is $1200, or you can get the non-HID aftermarket versions and retrofit projectors. Are yours too far gone to restore? Key is to seal them with a UV resistant clear like Spray Max 2K.

An idea?
I just had a thought. Is the front plastic lens the same across HID and non-HID cars? I know the reflectors, bulb sockets, and ballasts are all different, but could I buy a new set of non-HID assemblies and carefully swap just the clear piece on the front?

I don't know. I'm guessing for OEM parts yes but if you buy aftermarket and try using that lens on your originals they may not be a 100% fit. TYC does a great job of cloning the originals I'll say that.
