Default Climate Control fan problem

Hi,
I have an intermittent problem with the AC/heater fan that blows the air into the cabin. Sometimes the air flow almost stops blowing, as the fan drops out. If I do a “Fonzie” on it by slapping the dash cover, the shock reconnects the lost connection and it starts blowing again. It appears there is a bad connection in the heater controls. Do I need to disassemble the dash/console to get at the climate control unit’s connections and spray contact cleaner on them? Or can the problem be in the electronics of the controller? The problem could be a loose plug or a bad connection in the dash. What & How do I get at and disassemble to get to the root of my problem?
Thanks,
Neil

I'd start by running the fan and wiggle wires you can get you hands on and see if that changes anything. maybe you can locate the general area that way. it is probably realatively easy to remove the glove box, which will give you access to a bunch of wires too. might wiggle stuff in engine compartment too. get a wiring diagram.

Thanks for the quick reply. I went on YouTube and a video showed how to remove the console and dash to get at the controls for the Climate Control system. I’ll be doing as you suggested and I am thinking about unplugging the connections to inspect for clues and plan to spray an electrical contact cleaner on both male & female connectors. It’s funny how hitting the top sometimes complete’s the circuit. You know..... I just recently had the dash replaced by Lexus because the surface became sticky and it was recalled, so they replaced it no charge, but this symptom began AFTER they replaced the dash. Maybe I will go back to the Lexus Service Department to complain about it. Perhaps they will correct the problem without charge. My car appears like new. I’ll report back no matter what. Thanks for helping me, I will pass it on.👍😃
