I have a 2005 Lexus ES 330 with HID headlights. I got into a wreck and the casing is fine but the headlight cracked and melted what was holding the headlight in place.
Is there a way just to get to fix or buy a new holder or do i need to just get a new assembly?
That brings me to another question. Halogen assembly’s are a lot cheaper than an HID. Can i just buy a Halogen assembly and just switch them out?
Or do i need to just bite the bullet and buy the HID assembly?
You could swap out the HIDs for halogen style, your light output will suck though. You'll need to do a bit of wiring. Have to buy the entire unit there are no separate parts available like just the housing (no lens).
Not to hijack a thread but I thought this question kind of belongs in the same spot.
I have a 2003 ES 300 with the HID reflector lights. I was wondering if anyone know if these TYC projector lights will fit into my car, and will my existing HID bulbs plug into those?

What about the headlight self leveling feature?
Hello,
From my understanding, pre and post-facelift models had both Halogen and HID options. From what I found, it is possible to upgrade to Projector headlights in a pre-facelift model, and if you already have HID lights, it should be plug-and-play. Here you can find more about it.

Sounds like the refractor is too far broken to epoxy it.. I would buy a used OEM HID housing that matches the wear on the other headlight, for a close match. Or make the choice to buy 2 HID new aftermarket ones. Before you pull it apart.
You have to remove the front bumper cover and slide the corner bumper cover track outward, to get the last bolt out of the headlight housing. Some used parts dealers just break off the last corner tab (lazy). You also have to transfer the ballast from the old to the new housing and a couple electrical clips. The ballast is inside, and under the headlight housing. once you get the housing out you will see the cover on the bottom side. The Halogen housings are different no ballast pocket, and no self leveling.
