Default Breaks

Hello every body
Today i have New Q about the breaks
When i was driving my lexus es300/2002 and my speed was 40KM/h suddenly a car stoped in front of me i applied the preaks to Stop but IT did not work well and there was a sound & vibration i felt IT When step on the break.
MY Q is ...if this happen with any one or any When knows the reason, please advise me

When you say it did not work well, was your braking performance less than the expected result? Are you familiar with the way the ABS feels and sounds in your car? Have you had the brakes checked out by a qualified professional? My first guess is the Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS) system kicking in. From the owner's manual:

When the anti−lock brake system is activated, the following conditions may occur. They do not indicate a malfunction of the system:

You may hear the anti−lock brake system operating and feel the brake pedal pulsating and the vibrations of the vehicle body and steering wheel. You may also hear the motor sound in the engine compartment even after the vehicle is stopped.

At the end of the anti−lock brake system activation, the brake pedal may move a little forward.
