Exclamation tranmission reprogram

just recieved "recall " for 2003 es 300/ " this enhancemnet involves reprogramming software for ECm of transmission which changes shifting smootness of transmission " tech service info bulletin TC004-03 / Has anyone done it on a 2003 es/? results. It wife car, I do not drive it, do not know iif shifts are unsmooth, Only caveat. one done, can't be reversed to old program.

some are happy with it, some are unhappy, do a search on the boards - this topic has been discussed before

After reading that the Canadian fix works better than the US fix, I see no sound reason for disallowing the Canadian fix in American cars. If it takes a brief ULEV violation to prevent an annoying or dangerous hesitation, it should be allowed. The average pollution rate is what should be taken into consideration. If the US government can allow high-pollutin' Hummers and carbon-spewing diesel-powered behemoths to roam the country, why can't a fairly fuel-efficient V6 Lexus be allowed the brief violations needed to allow it to shift properly?
