Default Widest offset

Looking to put on some new wheels on my lowered 07’. Would someone be able to tell me what the widest offset allowable is?
Looking to put on some 20”

It seems someone new asks this question every few months.
You new guys need to actually do some searching first.
I'll help out. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es-...007-es350.html

Unfortunately I am pretty new to how this works, but I did see that thread, and I didn’t find a solid answer of what the widest offset allowable is. I’ve seen multiple offsets used and recommended for 20’s in the thread. But I wanted to specifically know if I 20x10 40ET would be ok. So maybe I should’ve been more clear.

You are combining terms. The wider the wheel the less you need to increase offset. Also 20s will fit differently than 19s or 18s etc.

When the width of the wheel changes, the offset also changes numerically. If the offset were to stay the same while you added width, the additional width would be split evenly between the inside and outside.

FYI 20 inch wheels will wreck your ride. Not enough sidewall flex. Also you will kill a lot of tires on potholes due to the very short sidewalls.
I would not go larger than 19 and think 18 may be the best compromise size for handling improvements while maintaining a decent ride. .

You may want to look at what fits the Camry since it is a mechanical twin and more of those guys do modifications than Lexus owners. I would also search for some of the internet sites that show what tires & wheel sizes will fit your car. The best ones even have graphics to show suspension components interference.
You could even call the guys at Tire Rack since they sell aftermarket wheels and will have that information.

Thanks for the info. Everyone seems to have they’re own opinion on what works and doesn’t work, but glad to hear yours. I’ve already gone back and forth and done my research between 19’s/20’s for the past 3 weeks. Decided on 20’s for multiple reasons, you’ll see why I went with that choice. I figured out the right size tires too, so the ride won’t be compromised too much.
I’ll be back with an update & post pics soon.
Thanks again🙏🏾
