Hey all. I wanted to post this because I don’t know if anyone on the forum knows about it from reading other remote start threads. General disclaimer that I have not seen or purchased this remote start. When I bought my ES in August, I was hoping that I could use the Enform app to remote start but my 2013 wasn’t equipped at the factory. A guy at work bought this for his Wrangler. Anyway, remote start for the ES using factory key for $170 and 2 way 1500 foot start using separate fob for about $250. Supposedly plug and play.
My 2014 didn't have remote start either, but I was able to purchase the remote start ECU (PT39833131) for $58 and program it using my existing Toyota Techstream (search Amazon). Remote start works well and barely cost me anything. If the above uses the factory key, then I bet the range will not be great (similar to OEM) so might as well just buy the Toyota ECU and get a techstream to program - it'll still be cheaper than that.

So, using the $58 ECU you don’t need the Enform subscription?

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me... When I bought my 2013 I installed an after market unit for $300.00 that worked perfectly. I'd go this route and save the money...
Best Buy has the 3000 ft 2-way Compustar go on sale for $250 installed two or three times a year. Had that done for my ES in November as I wasn't interested in paying for Enform. Also works with the factory key for those times that you don't need to have the range or features of the compustar remote with you.
Exactly, no subscription needed. You can only start the remote fob to start the car.
Sounds perfect , I could do this myself, but reserve my wrenching for my classic Volvo, and don’t have a PC. Only a Mac (bad choice). Do you think my Toyota or Lexus dealer would install and program without a fuss?

The suitability of the solution suggested by hypervish may vary depending on the year of your Generation 6 ES. For the 2013 and 2014 model years, remote start was an option, and, without that option, the ES had came with no remote start hardware. Starting with the 2015 (or 2016 model year), all ES came from the factory equipped with the remote start hardware, but a subscription was required to enable it. I'm assuming that what can be done with remote start via TechStream varies depending on whether your ES is a 2013/2014 ES or whether it is a 2015-2018 ES. So, the ability to use the $58 ECU suggested by hypervish may vary depending on the model year of your ES. I have no idea whether or not that is the case, but it is probably worth checking out before spending the time/money to try it

What the steps to active this ECU over techstream?

If I remember correctly, the Techstream guides you through it. It involved opening/closing the door, pressing the brake pedal and the push button a certain number of times.
I installed the EVO-ALL on my 2017 ES and I just use my smartphone to start it from anywhere with an internet connection. That way, I don't need to be close to the vehicle. I'm not sure if it's available for the hybrid models or not. You would have to do your own research there. https://fortin.ca/en/vehicles/lexus/...push-to-start/
It's a Canadian product so that may turn some of you off, but it works great for me and was quite reasonably-priced (I think I paid around $250 installed at a local shop).
