Default No sounds

Got in my wife’s 2013 ES (nonML) this morning, turned on the radio - no sound, nothing. Visually, it seems to be working normally, but no sounds at all - no selection chimes when I page through menus, no music regardless of source, no sounds from Blue Tooth phone operations.

Any ideas? Fuse?

Thanks in advance.

Ok, so yesterday I spent a couple of hours researching this issue. Things I did:

Worked through all menus in the car’s infotainment system – toggling everything on and off.

Toggled the SOS button several times.

Pulled and verified pertinent fuses.

Removed the negative connection to the battery for about 2 hours.

Nothing – still no sound.

About 8:00 last evening, the dear wife said “You want me to take a look at it?” I said, “Yeah, sure, you go take a look at it…”

She wasn’t gone 2 minutes – came back in the house “All fixed!” I asked, “What the f--- did you do?” She said, “I just pushed a bunch of different buttons.”

Well, there you go – problem solved.

My 2015 did the same thing 3 days ago. I turned the ignition off, restarted the car , and it worked.

She may have discovered the little known audio MUTE features on the ES.
Arrow button above the radio tuning dial and the steering wheel mute feature. There is a thread titled "Discovered after 15 months the mute button" that has more details.

Thanks, but that wasn’t it - I also toggled the mute button on/off numerous times.

Maybe it was the battery disconnect that fixed it, but there was a delay? I only fussed with it a few minutes after reconnecting the battery - maybe it needed more time?

Naw, gonna put her to work fixing car stereos- $100/hr.

Actually, the car I was fussing with was her ex - Valentines Day I surprised her with a beautiful new F Sport. In the balance of payments, I’d say I’m owed... Though, I always say those credits have the shelf life of milk.
