Nice site you have here, and very informative...I have a 93 ES300 with 170k miles on it....I just paid it off, so now it is mine. It does have problems though...The power steering is out, and my axles have started clicking when I turn...I want to keep this car since I worked so hard to pay for it...

I'm going on a road trip this weekend, halfway across the state of CO. I was wondering what kind of additive would be good for the engine/tranny or any other way to keep the engine running strong.

Engine Restore for the engine. It comes in a silver can at walmart. You will definately see results. Don't know about tranny, I'd just get the fluid changed.

If your axles are clicking in turns, your CV Joints are bad...
And get the power steering fixed eh?

You're up to 1,500-2 grand there depending on your mechanic.

IMHO Lexus car on a Lexus forum or not, if anything else comes up, you really might want to think about is it worth it to fix it as oppose to trading for something else :\ Most reliable of the reliable, but everything wears out eh?

FYI The gas additives don't do anything for engine life. All they do normally is "try" and clean the inside out. If you don't run 91-93 grade gas regularly, it's a good idea to mix in a can of something every 10-20 fill-ups just to make sure it's all cleaned out.

Don't use oil addatives... By doing so you just changed the oil formulations (mineral OR synthetic) are blended too. If you learn to read the oil additives in the oil, you'll see you don't need it. You don't need anything more either.

Besides, you problably should use a high mileage synthetic anyways... Those will have everything you need allready added in, and to "correct & safe" proportions.

 

Engine Restore is an oil additive and you will see incredible results. Every car I've put it in has ended up running much better. I'm not trying to give a sales pitch but this stuff is great.
