Default Interchangeable engines

Hello. Im new to the forum and basically signed up on behalf of my son who owns a 1997 Lexus ES300. It has a v6 3.0 liter engine that recently threw a rod i believe. Either way he has to replace it probably with a rebuilt motor. My question is this....He found a couple motors and needed to know if they will work in his car. One is engine from a 1997 toyota camry and the other is from a 1997 Lexus sc400. Does anyone know if theses are compatible and interchangeable with his car?? Thank you very much. Any help at all is appreciated. Liz Russell

The 97 toyota Camry would work if its the 3.0l v6

There's a 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder that came with that year of camry. Depends on the model

The one for the SC is a different platform (RWD vs FWD). What part of Texas are you in? I would be happy to help sort this out in person if you are within a reasonable driving distance.
