Possibly, but please note that this response was originally related to the person who said: "I had a similar problem with the sunroof rattling on my 2014."

?? Your reply was directly following this post:

Were your noise issues occurring only when open or when opened and closed? If only during opened then I'll have to try and simulate that over the next few days. Thanks in advance.

Fine, but "I had a similar problem with the sunroof rattling on my 2014." began this entire conversation.

You mean the one that had the dealer repair it like you?

I'm not saying you and CFO didn't have a problem. It's just not "common", as the OP is asking.

Trust me, don't bring the car to the dealer and say you hear something that doesn't exist. If they take apart your sunroof and reassemble it, you may now have an issue you didn't have prior.
very valid point. everytime they did something with my car something else came out wrong LOL
o well. nothing ever stays new in this earth.

Agree. Especially if they finish and have a few leftover parts!

I consider it to be a common problem because there have been several comments about it in different posts on this forum. Also, although it was issued for the IS, there is a Technical Service Bulletin about this problem. I wouldn't have been able to solve my problem if it weren't for the above mentioned posts because it doesn't sound like the noise is coming from the sunroof and the dealer was of no help when I first reported it. If you don't have the problem I wouldn't go looking for it and I have driven some service loaners that clearly did not have the problem. My car didn't seem to develop the noise until it had around 25K miles on it. Forgive me for being overly sensitive about it, but it is a very annoying rattle when it occurs.

The only problem I have with my 14 ESh is that the audio (radio, cd, map, phone, everything) loses sound randomly. The only thing that gets it back is an ignition shutdown and then startup again.

it happens once a month or so, completely randomly.

Will talk to the deal at the next oil change.

Another vote for the sunroof repair on my 2014. I don't think I used it a single time before the repair, the amount of use is probably irrelevant. Supposedly it's a cable.

I thought it was a suspension issue because it made a sort of "knocking" noise that to my ears sounded like it was coming underneath the car. Repair took several days and supposedly cost like $3,000. Fortunately covered under warranty. Sound went away. I wouldn't have paid that out of pocket though.

Also, had to have a CV boot replaced, it was torn open.

I don't what it is about Lexus/Toyota, but they seem to have problems with their boots. Also had to have ones in my wife's GX replaced before 50k miles.
