Default Navigation with Bluetooth

When I use navigation on my Android phone and am listening to the radio or XM radio, the navigation directions are always silent.

To get the navigation directions to play over my Lexus speakers, my only option is to change the radio source to Bluetooth, then I don't get the radio.

Is there a way to get the navigation directions to play while I listen to the radio?

Thanks

No, it only plays a single source at a time. Might want to try Bluetooth audio while navigating.

Then get the XM/Sirius app. As a side benefit, the sound quality will more than double.

In what vehicle were you able to select two sources at once?

The way you started the thread, I assumed you were able to do this in another vehicle. Anyways, if you really like XM, get the app for your phone. Like I said, the sound quality is much better and you will be able to navigate at the same time.

Check the settings in your phone Nav app and select Bluetooth as phone call.
When the app creates a notice sound or voice prompt it will preempt your media and play.

Strongly consider configuring Lexus Enform App Suite. Free and it will let you use your
phones voice recognition and Map information to program the Lexus Navigation. Lots of
posts on this to help set it up.

Would you mind providing me a bit more info on this? I searched the community and didn't find much related to this topic.

Lexus Enform has multiple features, some subscribed and one free. The overhead "SOS" button is $80/year
and enables the 3/4 watt phone (our cell phones are 1/3 watt) for emergencies - stolen car, crash, med. alert.

Lexus Enform App Suite is free. Download from App Store/Play Store. First screen will show "Sign Up", fill
in the fields. Password format must have at least one (1) Capital letter and at least one (1) number. Will not
be needed except for any additional phones you set up later. Try "Lexus2015". In the Lexi you tap the "Menu"
button on the console and select LAS. Initial connection will require that your phone update the car.(this will be
5 minutes of your life that you will never get back...) Now you are good to go.

Most powerful element of LAS is the Navigation interface between your phone and the Lexus Nav system.
1) when you are not in the car, open the app and select from categories or type/speak an address. Next time
you fire up the car and your phone is paired for calls/texts, open LAS and she will ask if you wish to sync...Yes!

2) when you are driving and your phone is paired/connected and the LAS app is running in the background...
now you will enjoy the best of both your phone and your Lexus. Couple of ways to make your phone supply
an address. a) Press the talk/speech button and say "Launch Destination Search" (not ...Dest. Assist")

b) Tap Destination on the Nav screen and open "Web Search" c) center console Menu/LAS/Dest Search.
Tap the talk/speech button and simply say a name and town or an address and town and your phone will
recognize your speech and use its up to date data and drop it into the Lexus system...done!

I tried to download the APP yesterday on my Samsung and the only APP available was Lexus Entune 2 which isn't compatible with my older car. I think this is only for the 2018s.

I just opened the Play Store app on my Android phone and entered "Lexus" in the search box. The Enform app immediately came up right below the Enform 2.0 app in the list of apps that was generated.

Yikes! You need a new phone. Android KitKat came out 5 years ago and hasn't been supported for a long time. Most new Android apps are supposed to target the latest versions like Oreo 8.1, although a lot of phones are still on Nougat 7.1.
