1996 RX300 SE-L - the driver's external mirror is constantly dark but the nearside mirror is fine and is quite clear as normal. Whatever mechanism /sensor controls the change from clear to dark seems to have failed. Has anyone else experienced this fault and what is the fix ?

In my previous Question I wrongly gave the year of manufacture of my RX300 SE-L as 1996 when it should have been 2006.
