Default Air Bag Module

Wondering if it is worth the effort to try and find the air bag module board my local dealership says my 2008 ES-350 needs. They quoted 700.00+ for the parts and labor and I wondered if having the part would be enough or WILL IT NEED TO BE PROGRAMMED after installation - making the effort wasted since I will be forced to see them for that part of the repair. Thanks!!

Contact http://www.rancholexusrecycling.com/ and ask if that is possible and if they have a used one available.

Finally, could this possibly be covered under the Takata recall? Or the Toyota/lexus lifetime seatbelt warranty? I would also contact Lexus corporate.

My understanding was that recycling places can not deal with Seat Belts, Air Bags or Catalytic Converters.

this is something i did not know about the lexus lifetime seatbelt warranty.
What kind of coverage does this cover do you know?

like my drivers seatbelt retracts much slow and stiff than any of the other seatbelts in the car.
also when i pull it out it moves alot slower almost like something on a track that is not lubed or greased and it just operates slower and sluggish you could say.
i wonder if lexus would consider this part of the lifetime seatbelt warranyt and cover it to replace it.

You have nothing to lose by calling the dealer and asking them to look at your seat belt. I only know the warranty exists. I have not read the details in the manual. You should do that since you actually have an issue that may be covered.
Just be prepared for the dealer to then find 6 additional items that they will claim need to be serviced or repaired at great expense.
