Hello everyone, thank you for any help and feedback you can provide. I have had my 2000 ES300 for 13 months and i have babied this car like no other. My first purchased car so i have done everything i can with this car. I have had super smooth shifting with it, to the point where the engine sound is what gives away the shift, no vibration or anything. I recently had an emergency where i had to travel at about 125-130 mph for around 15-20 minutes. However i was constantly going down to 80 and foot to floor to get it back up to speed and the next morning i noticed delayed shifting. No jerking or really hard shifts. I used to get the car up to about 50 mph keeping rpm's under 2K the whole way and now it holds 2nd or 3rd sometimes to almost 2800 -3000 and then shifts down a little hard in my opinion. I have a very light foot when accelerating. It shifts smooth downhills but anything uphill, i have to let off the gas for a split second and reapply and then again to go into 4th from 3rd. No engine codes, I took to aamco and they said no codes and their test drive said shifts like it should. It hesitates from 3rd to 4th for easily two seconds before shifting over if i'm on level road or downhill. My dad's 95 es300 had a failed transmission which started as hesitation (though his rpm went up to 5000 before shifting) so i am trying to figure out before its too late. The transmission fluid is pink with absolutely no burned smell (aamco,midas said that also). Any help is very much appreciated and sorry for the long read.

 

It's really hard to determine the problem in situations like these. (If there even is a problem)

It's a long shot but try disconnecting your negative battery terminal for a few minutes and see if that fixes the problem. (This will clear codes, reset the cars computer)

 

I tried the ecu fuse reset for a few minutes to try let it relearn my low shift points but its not making much difference since i cant threat the gas slowly to get the gear changes as id like, especially for uphill. and yes it is hard to perform a diagnosis for this problem. Also, mileage at 139,000. Thank you for the suggestion though!

 

Update, I pulled the Main and Engine fuse for about an hour or so while eating dinner two days ago. Tried starting with both fuses out to verify it indeed cannot and plugged them back in and immediately got the engine to reset the shift points such that i can get up to over 50 without breaking 2000 RPM along with a smooth shift. If anyone has similar problems, try pulling both fuses instead of the main to reset the ECU. May sound crazy but it did work for me
