I was bummed that their was no way to converse the 1999 taillights on to my 1995 es300,unless I customize. So, I am going to my second option , and that is to paint my taillights candyapple red. Now, does anyone have any information towards what materials I would need to finish the job?
'99? Are you sure you don't mean '00 (red with clear middles)? Anyhow, several people here have "redded out" their tails. Some people have used a special translucent red paint; others have used red tape. Both of which look remarkably clean from 6 feet away and greater. Removing, rather than covering the amber is trickier, run a search and you will find many discussions.
I personally am not a big fan of having two huge solid red taillight bars, as to me that is a Buick trademark, e.g. Rendezvous, many of their sedans have blocky red tails (now I need to think of a clever term for adding American styling elements to a Japanese car )
hmmm....didn't someone want to put 2000-2001 tails onto their 97-99? don't think we heard what happened eventually, but now i'm curious because i have a hunch it works, and if it does, that's gorgeously wonderful.
on your 95 ES you're a bit luckier than the 92-94 guys and gals for not having a darn emblem on your taillights. can anyone else think of another model car w/ emblems on its taillights?
