Default 94 ES300 Master key shell

Hello Everyone,

My wife told me today that her Lexus key from a 94 Es300 is missing a part. When I look at it, it is missing the remote button cap which is on the side. I suspect that the key was dropped somehow and the remote button top fell and she didn't notice it. I put a small bead in to the hole and wrap around it with some electrical tape. The remote still works. I can lock and unlock the car. I just want to have it properly fixed.

Does anyone know where I can buy that small plastic cap. Or if anyone has an old non working key lying around that I can buy from.

Thanks in advance.

You can get a whole shell and blank for about $10 on eBay. I have bought a couple. You just transfer your security fob into the new one. Make sure you get the right length - I think yours uses the long key - up through '01 - then they changed to the shorter key.

If you have the same master key as 92 SC (which I think you might), I personally had a very difficult time finding a shell for my 92 as my shell cracked in multiple areas. The master key with the single unlock button is very hard to come by. Used master keys go for like $30 to $50 bucks and new uncut unprogrammed one goes for like $100. Im sure it would be even more at the dealer. I suggest trying to pick up a used master key with a good shell and button. good luck

Unfortunately, it is one of those old style "one" button key that you cannot take out the fob. It is the same style as 92 SC. I might just have to pick up an used key from eBay and reuse the press button.

Out of curiosity....Does anyone know if there ever exist some universal remote that we can program to fit with Lexus? I know the chance is probably close to none.

I wish there was a universal remote available. I'll let you know if I find any. The only option I know of, for example, for those who lost or have broken master keys is to buy new masters key set that comes with the corresponding receiver from the dealer
