I have a 1994 es 300, everything is stock, but i want to upgrade my headers, exhaust,muffler, air intake, etc. To some preformance parts. Problem is, i cant find any parts for my vehicle. What can i do? If i buy parts for a 1994 camry will they got my lexus? Or where can i buy preformance parts? I really want to start working on my car and upgrading it. What do i do?

 

provided the Camry has the same engine then yes, everything will bolt up. except it's possible that a full exhaust system might not. But you can always take that too a shop and have them modify it until it does fit.

You won't get much more performance from those modifications, perhaps a 20-30hp, more likely less. Also, if you add more air to an engine and don't add more fuel then you won't really gain anything and in fact might have less power. So, you would also need to add a electronic device to the system to modify the air fuel ratio.

Your money would be better spent making sure the engine runs well, has no oil leaks, and the car is well maintained. Things like a new radiator, and fresh brake pads, and skimmed brakes are money better spent.

It's not a performance car, .. but there are three different kinds of engines in the 1994 es300

2.5 L 2MZ-FE V6 (VCV11; Japan)
3.0 L 3VZ-FE V6 (VCV10) 138 kW (185 hp) 3.0-liter
3.0 L 1MZ-FE V6 (MCV10) 140 kW (188 hp) 3.0-liter

if it were mine car, I would get everything look really nice and tidy. Tint the windows, drop it on 18 inch rims with 2.5 inch lower springs and new shocks. I'd install a 15 inch sub, and decent stereo to match it. I'd leave the engine alone, but make sure it was running perfectly. Then I'd just cruize it and enjoy the car. These things were never fitted with good enough brakes to be a performance car, or good enough suspension to support spirited driving, .. it's a bottomless pit modifying them, you're wasting your time and money trying.

that's coming from someone that's made money modifying cars, and has modified just about every car he owns, .. except his ES300 ^for those reasons^

Find a better car to start with, something that will get real results for the money spent, like a turbo cylinder car, say a Mark 2 Toyota

you're welcome, it's kinda funny every few months we get a post from someone new asking how to modify these cars.

They always get the same answer from everyone, .. don't do it. Some of us come from the 'it's good as it is' perspective. Some of us come from the 'it's a luxury car, not a ricer tuner' perspective. I'm not in those groups, I'm more .. is it going to be worthwhile. Honestly, .. it won't be. Even going as far as turbo or supercharging them isn't really worth it because of the suspension and brake issues. Let alone the fact that the available gearbox's won't take it, either in automatic (definately not), or in manual (low maximum hp level).

It's a better course to turn it into a comfortable cruiser, that's reliable. Something that you take to the club with all your friends in it, and roll the local strip on a Saturday afternoon. You'll save a bundle on speeding tickets having a car like that :P

 

Yeah, I totally agree. I won't do much to my 94 except get the engine and tranny in proper form, then lower it on some 18s. It's a beautiful cruiser, real smooth. My goal is to make her sexy and reliable, like a good wife. Lol.
