I have a 2000 es 300 with 369000 km (230000 mi.). I had code p1354 so I replaced the ocv in bank 2 and cleaned the filter. Now I am getting code p1351. The car cuts out for a second & then continues when warm. At a stop the engine idles rough and shakes the exhaust. Once underway again it is ok other than the cutting out at various speeds and time intervals. Any suggestions as to what to look for next. Is it timing belt or cam gears???

Variable Valve Timing (VVT) system controls the intake valve timing to proper timing in response to driving condition. The Engine Control Module (ECM) controls Oil Control Valve (OCV) to make the intake valve timing properly, and, oil pressure controlled with OCV is supplied to the VVT controller, and then, VVT controller changes relative position between the camshaft and the crankshaft.

If you're going to replace the timing belt, then also do the three oil seals, and the water pump, and the accessory belts, you might as well replace the other OCV too, and the tensioner, and put all the possible issues to rest at once.
