Help: Keyless entry.
Well heres another one for my list of things oging wrong wiht my es but hey ILOVE this car so much its worth all the pain hehe.
Here is the deal my keyless entry wont work anymore (before I used ot like press it good and hard a few times for it to finally work now it wont at all) I took it to radio shack and they said my battery was good but I still replaced it. That didnt work. Heres my quesiton Has anyone had this problem?
Could these be possible solutions?
1. Take it to lexus (or call). See if they can replace it or service it I guess.
2. Bash it good with a hammer!
Any help would be great and as always appreciated.
Also does anyone know how much it cost to replace it Just the top transmitter part not the key.

here's the deal, if you take it to the dealer, and they tell you that you need a new remote. you realize that they will give you 2 new remotes and you will have to pay the $250 to get them...
Since the remote can be opened up, try and get some 91% alcohol and q-tip to clean the button contacts. That may/may not help, but it beats going to the dealer to get new ones. Of course if it's the transmitter and/or receiver parts/components, then you're SOL.
I remember seeing that there was an FM station you could tune to to see if the key was transmitting a signal. If the key works, you hear interference on the radio. Try doing a search. I can't remember if this was in the ES forum, I browse the SC300/400 and 1st Gen GS forums a lot, as things like that tend to go across models (I believe all the early-mid 90's Lexuses had the 1-button on the key, I think the 1995 LS was the first with the 3-button fob).
As always you guys have great imput I am going to try the idea about the alcohol and Im also ogign to search the boards for similar probs. And of course if worse comes to worse Ill go to the dreaded dealer muuhahahahaha.
THanks guys!!!
