es300 ignition coil problems
I have a 2000 es300 290,000 miles thats had a recurring ignition coil failure. It started out as studdering while driving but then turned into full out shaking and while on the hwy forcing me to not be able to go over 55 mph. This issue comes and gos randomly. Usually 3-6 months between issues. Ive taken it to car shops and they usually scratch their heads try acouple of things then a few months later it comes back. Ive installed new oxy sensor. Changed all spark plugs. Changed all ignition coils multiple times. I would take it in to get code read every time the issue came back and the recurring fault was coil in position 4. Now I have a couple spare coils that when I have issues I pull over and put in a new coil and clear codes and the car runs fine. it also has problems shifting gears when you first get into the car even after letting it warm up. anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem?
Oil control valves. I ended up taking out the new coils I put in and returned them...
About 50$ per bank from rockauto. That should fix it, a google search would've pointed you to the RX and even the ES forums about the same issue prior to spending all that money on it...
