Hi - I'm sure there's a thread on this somewhere - but I did not see it. How is the panoramic SUn Roof option on the 2013 ES350? Is it worth the upgrade? I'm going to buy soon and want to get the best options possible for the money!

Thanks

I have it and love the way it looks on the exterior. Don't really see any function with it though except those in the back can have natural light in the back seat. I had an ES as a loaner and noticed that my glass sunroof is louder than the standard when it is opened while driving.mthe other features that come with the ultra luxury make it an awesome upgrade!

From a functional perspective, it is really great for back seat passengers as the placement of the rear roof is perfect for looking out. For the front seats, it doesn't add anything over the standard moon roof.

Looks-wise, the panoramic roof stands out on non-black cars and tips off the Ultra Luxury trim which is rare to see.

Since the pano roof is typically bundled with other options, the "is it worth it" question has to be considered for the entire package of options. In that context, I would say it is.

It's probably the option I like the most. I don't think I would have it any other way. Definitely worth it to me.

Thanks Lisa - what UL options do you feel are awesome?

The upgraded leather, dark wood trim, and the ambient lighting I just love. Te passenger seat memory is handy for us and I couldn't live without the sunshades on the back windows and rear.

What color are you looking at?

The only small negative on a pano roof to me is whenI owned a '12 ES w/UL pkg, I felt it had more outside noise with the glass vs metal with insulation of a '10 ES I had but it was worth it.

I have wondered if it is louder overall. I definitely hear more wind nose especially on the freeway. Still not as loud as my old Expedition.

I read about road noise as well - does it seem worse in the back seat? does look really cool and I appreciate all of the feedback - sounds like the options really make the ES sing!

Lisa - what color do you have and how do you like it? I'm feeling sort of flexible there as I like the gold, charcoal and even the sparkly agate colors. Not sure what color to go for on the interior - non-black seems nice, but not sure I like either the gray or the tan that much (do love the wood though!)

Thank you all.

Hi Lisa - just saw you have the red - a little too bold for me - but does look super sharp!

Let me just say,I wouldn't buy an ES without the UL pkg.I had a silver w/black interior..
The bigger negative thing is the XM box antenna on the trunk lid.
Can't see why it couldn't be somewhere out of sight like on a say...Optima.

I thought that box was the sensor for the rear cross traffic alert?

That same antenna box has been on ES UL's before cross traffic alert was an option.

I used to see an 07 moon shell mica(pink) ultra lux. Apparently we both lived somewhere near each other. I would see it in parking lots at walgreens, grocery, home depot etc. I never did see the driver though. I have to say the silver/pink with the all black glass roof and a black interior did look pretty sharp.

Found this one, not with a black interior.

ahh I see. it looks like the sensors for the rear cross traffic alert are inside the rear bumper on the left and right. I agree, that is kind of a stupid location if it is just the xm radio antenna.

As far as the panoramic roof goes, I'm definitely glad I chose it as an option! Makes the car look that much more elegant. Rear passengers really like it too.
