Hello folks I currently have an 01 ES300 with about 104k on it.. The currently problem I'm having is driving at highway speeds of 70 to 80mph range is causing the front wheels & steering wheel to shutter/shake..I had a tire rotation done on the vehicle yesterday & before that happened I noticed very little vibration on the front wheels & now that its been done there is more vibration/shaking... Then I had a thought thinking the wheels had gotten out of balance so had that done & that wasn't the problem.. I have new tires 225/55R/16 which is probably not good to have non oem which is 205/60R/16 spec tires but I was told its ok. New ball joints, new outer tire rods, new sway bar links, all OEM hardware for the suspension components except the strut towers in which they are all KYB!! CV joints are still original, the steering rack is original, Inner tie rods are original. Brake rotors are warped but the steering wheel will not shake unless the brakes are applied.. I'm out of loss for words here any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated!!
I have had similar problems, but my 05 330 only shakes when I apply and let off the gas. What condition is your tranny in? Also your rims. I would get it in the air and just start shaking stuff to make sure nothing went wrong. If all else fails, then look deeper. Hope his helps
Perhaps they are a BS brand of tires which hopefully tmw I will be going back to BFGOODRICH Advantage T/A's 205/60R/16 the ones I have are called SIME Astar300's
You could also have a bend rim. You may not have noticed while it was in the back, but when they moved it to the front, the shaking became much more pronounced.
I dont think thats the case of it being a bent rim. The shake business did not occur when I got the tires installed. Im gunna see what tmw brings with the proper size tires.
If it's been too long between rotation it's possible the rear tires developed heel-toe wear. Tread separation would be more noticeable at very low speeds. Wheel balance typically is around 50-55 then smooths out until around 70. Bent wheel is also something you would notice at low speed and something that should've been caught when balanced (although severe heel-toe wear should've been caught as well). Let us know how it turns out with the new tires.
It so happened to be the old tires... I had 205/60R/16 BFGOODRICH Adavantage T/A's installed and the car stays straight, no pull, and better handling!!!

Just wondering if you still like those BFGoodrich Advantage T/A's?
I need new tires in the same size and Sam's Club has those tires with $50 instant off this week.
The car is only driven twice a week between home and the grocery store 6 miles away. Speed limit
either 35mph or 45mph. Not looking for any "fancy" tires... just a decent reliable tire for a grocery-
getter(literally). It currently has a set of Goodyear Assurance TripleTred with 5/32" tread left.
Those were installed in 2004. Only did 24,000 miles in those 10 years. Unfortunately, they are
severely dry-rotted, due to age and being parked outside.
Thanks in advance for your reply!

As the tires have gotten older I develop road noise around 40-45 miles p/hour, but other than that they are very good tires to do around town cruising.. I'm thinking my next set I will acquire Michelin Premier A/S 205/60R/16's. That tire superseded the Michelin MXV4's
I just got a set of Michelin Premiers, the mxv4's took a radial pull and Michelin C/S helped with pro-rating, so far I really like them, took a bit of weight (2-3 oz.) to balance... but I am not racing around or high speed, just cruzing' and they are smooth. If you are **** about weight and your wheels are true and balance out good, go with the V rated.
Next to do is the steering rack mount bushings, that might help you.
