how to remove airbag from lexus 2009 es350 to replace switch assembly in streering wheel

No it's super easy! You disconnect the battery first, then remove the two side clips in the steering wheel. There is 2 t30 torque screws you have to remove, then remove the air bag and remove the two clock spring clips on the back on the air bag. Then the two steering wheel controls pull straight off with a bit of force. There is a couple wire clips the plug into the wheel that have to be removed.

I've changed out my steering wheel to a Woodgrain wheel and installed new buttons as mine were wearing really bad. It took me about half a hour.

Here's a picture of the clock spring wiring, you pull up on the yellow clips to release from air bag

Here's a picture of the clips on the back of the steering wheel controls. You remove the one phillips screw then they just pop out, you have to pull them straight out with quite a bit of force.
