No surprise! My ES300h is my 3rd Lexus (still have one other) and all have been amazing vehicles.

My third as well, and I still have the other two, the oldest being a 1999 RX with about 130K on it.

I'm glad they don't consider things like how well the voice recognition works, but ya that's one of the main reasons we bought the ES.

Music to my ears.....After a costly mistake of trading a SC430 for an A4 Audi .....I have returned to the Lexus world. We needed a sedan and I was not thrilled with the 2012 ES, however, I stumbled across the new redesigned ES350, dug back into my pocket. I love this new ES plus I have peace of mind again.

My SC430 was 9 yrs old and everything still worked perfectly. If I had held on for another yr I would have saved myself allot of trouble, but such is life. I'm happy to be back.

In addition to JD Power, the ES has always been highly ranked by Consumer Reports for Predicted Reliability from their Owners Surveys.

Even so, I still bought the 8yr/100k warranty. My wife made me do it.

I struggled with that decision a bit as well. Cashing in the extended warranty on the Audi helped recover from the debacle. In the case of the Audi there was no doubt it was necessary. The Lexus on the other hand not so much. You might be happy you have it with all the electronics/technology the new car has.

I had the same "discussion" . Prevailing heads won out.

Okay everyone it is great the 2013 ES, has been ranked ranked most dependable in segment, wow the vehicle has only been out 8 months, I would be worried if major problems were to happen. My 2008 GS 450H was nothing but a pain and it only started in 2011 and it was also ranked most dependable and glad I had extend warrenty. Vehicles should be rated at least after 3 years and with real miles on them. JUSt Saying

I agree. Going back to the 2007 model year, the ES350 fares very well. JD Power also has 3 year dependability reports.

See Consumers Report April Car Edition. More than the 3 years of reliability for most models.
