I have noticed that there are bubbles in the black portion of the glass for the rear windshield. Is this a bad thing or a good thing? Will it lead to leaks?

Not sure without a picture. Does your car have tint on the windows? Are the bubbles along the defroster lines?

Most likely from window tint on the rear window. There are raised bumps on the bottom of the rear window if memory serves me right. Its impossible to get the tint down in these areas so it would create bubbles if they decided to put it over them..

no tint on window but this would be down around the base of the windshiled where they would glue and waterproof glass into place

if the rear glass has ever been replaced it may just be excess adhesive. I'll take a close look at mine when I get out of work today to see if I see something similar.
