Default Skippity do da CD player

Hello...my first post!

I just bought a very nice well maintained mystic gold metallic 2004 es330 with 98,000 miles. Everything is pretty much perfect on the car except for the cd player skips when I play a CD. These are newly burned cd-r's.

Is is possible that burned cd's or possibly the brand of cr-r I have will not play?

FWIW, I do plan to eventually do a diy ipod adapter.

Also, anything else on this car I should look for that might be a common issue?

Thanks

I figured it out. I was burning the CDs on the fastest speed.

I slowed the burn speed way down to the slowest setting. CDs now work like a charm.

Welcome to Club Lexus!

Glad to hear you figured it out.

If you're looking at getting an iPod input, look at my thread, it's just a few below this one. On the second page I posted a link to the video my installer made on the GROM Unit he installed in my ES300, which has the same radio as your ES330.

Has the timing belt been done?

Yes, the timing belt service was done at 77,889 miles. Isn't that 12,000 miles early? I actually bought this car from a Chevrolet dealer. While looking at the car I immediately called the Lexus dealer to verify that the timing belt had been done.

I got the car for $11,000. I also had them give me four new tires and a new battery. The tires that were on it were Dunlops that made terrible road noise.
