Nice Ride! I always wondered what the IS wheels would look like on the ES.

 

wat type of foglights are those?? How much were they and were they hard to install? can you post a pic with em on.

 

Man...you did what I always wanted to do....HIDs and IS300 wheels...only I want Gunmetal variety. Is that what you're riding? And do you use HID projectors from Audi/BMW in those headlamps? Any more pics?

 

The IS300 wheels look tight... where did you get them from and what measurments are your tires? how much did you pay from the wheels and did u have to modify anything at all or just slipp on the wheels?

I got my IS300 from some guy up north, he sold it to me for about 460 including shipping, there were 2 flat tires, with a little scratch on the rim. Wasn't too bad. I'll include another hid pic here. This is during warm-up.

The IS300 fit with no problems, it barely fit.

The foglights...believe it or not, came off a Mitubishi Diamante 2000. I just wired it with the same wires and screwed it on and whaaa la!

Yea, thats my ride right now, its actually in the shop getting the seals changed in my valves, been without my ride for a week now, and yes it sucks without a car!!!

Yea, I believe the HIDs are D2S bulbs, basically the ones without the strip of shielding, made for projectors.

The measurements for the tires, i believe are 215x45x17. 460 is wat i paid for them and they just slipped on, I even have spacers in the rear rims.

The year is 1992, the paint job is still great, but its got about 170k miles on it. But I still love the car.

I think that was all the questions you guys had, feel free to ask away, I will try to answer all when I get the chance.

-Excellent, i heard the IS300 rims cause problems on the 97+ ES, not sure whether the person had spacers or not, but if it works for you, than it prolly works for all 92-96. How'd you go about the spacers? Did you put them in or have a tire shop do it?

-What kind/type/brand of HID kit do you have? How was the installation?

-Those Mitsu fogs look mean!

Actually, that is a funny thing, I use to have different lug nuts on it and the front lugs were too short to have spacers put in. I gotta go to Pep Boys to buy another set. I had my mechanic put in the spacers while he was installing my back struts. Yea, I heard that there might be a problem with my year, but I don't see any problems. I forgot wat brand mine is, since i'm at work now if I find the box at home I'll post it. It was a cinch installing it, the worst thing is locating a spot for the ballast to go other than that it was so easy. I was thinking of putting like PIAAs on but I figure no point in spending more money on it. With the HIDs the fogs don't make any difference. Thanks for all your positive comments!!! Thanks man, I was reading up on ur post about painting the insides of the headlamps??? You have to put pics up! I also want to change the lights on my climate controls from another post that I've seen. If I had time, I'd try wat amirt50 was doing, i know there are lots of salvage shops out there, and I'm sure there are Audis, BMW lights. It does seem tough to put in though. I'm going to hopefully keep my car for another 2 years, then I have to get a new car, still not sure what to get. Oh yea for those who are wondering what kind of HIDs I have, its Hanabis'. My gf brother has a maxima and was reading up on xenons. He came across a group buy for the HIDs, I got it for about 410 including shipping and money order. Oh yea Sean, hurry up and put ur pics up, or IM me and send me the pics!!

 

I have a 1996 ES300 and recently installed IS300 5 spoke rims with stock Bridgestone Potenza 215/45ZR17 tires.

The rims fit easily with absolutely no problems, except for the lugs. The stock ES300 lugs stick out of the IS300 rims about 1½" past the rim. It does work, but looks retarded and would make removing them without a wheel lock key really easy for a thief. The lugs stick out so far you could grab them with a pair of vice grips.

I bought IS300 lugs and locks from the Lexus dealer for about $8.50 a piece for the lugs and $50 for the locks = $230.00

Yeah, I could've hunted through some junk yards, but I wanted the rims on the day I got them, so I paid dearly for the lugs. Make sure whatever lugs you use they have the washer on them.

I got the rims from a guy in Florida off of www.is300.net

I paid $560 including the $100 it cost to ship them from Florida to California. So basically the rims cost $460.

The height and width of the IS300 rims is almost exactly the same as the stock ES300 rims. Yes, the IS300 rim is bigger (17") but the tire on the ES300 is taller. It ends up being the same.

The car looks good without lowering it, it would probably look a little better dropping it an inch or two, but I'm an family man and my car is a daily driver and it just isn't practical to lower it. Besides, it does look good being stock with the IS300 rims and tires.
