Default Intake

Hey guys i am thinking about getting intake or just a k&n filter.

What do you think is better and which one do you have?

I've also heard some rumors that the sensor might go out with and intake.

I don't want the full intake because they don't make one for it. I am thinking about switching the airbox and installing a 3 inch adapter and a cone filter.

i helped my friend install an intake on his car but he has a 90 Bmw 325i and nothing happened to his sensor.

What do you guys think?

as long as you don't touch the MAF sensor there should be no problem. what year do you have? Also another thing to consider before you slap on an intake is that intakes are usually pretty loud, so I would say a K&N drop in is good enough for a extra 2-3 hp.

i have a k and n cone filter in my car. it is 3" and fits fine without an adapter. there are some full intakes available, not too good looking though. i've seen some on websites.

i'm planning on the K&N filter change. there was an earlier thread that mentioned a feel of performance loss after putting in a 3" cone. i was planning to do that, but i think i'll just stick with a new filter.

what do you think eric? any performance loss?
