Default Auto Leveling Headlight Indicator on After Suspension Work

Hey guys, hoping someone can easily help me out here with some pics and how to's. I just put in new struts, linkages etc in the 300 and after doing this work the auto leveling headlight indicator light has come on. It was never on before so I'm fairly confident it is a result of disconnecting the say bar and linkages, possibly something connect in the rear passenger side that I need to look at and adjust, just not sure what and how. If anyone has done this or knows how to get the light back off I appreciate the help. The head lights do still cycle when the car is started as you can see them go down and up when the ignition is turned on. Thank you!

Has Anyone figured out how to diagnose and repair this auto leveling light issue? I had my front struts and linkage replaced on my 00ES back in July and just a week ago my indicator started blinking and stays blinking. I'm not sure its related to the strut replacement since it was so long ago. i was able to peek down into the level and it wasn't zeroed out. a few turns on each side and I was able to zero out the level but light still blinks, rapidly I might add. Appreciate any help on this subject.

The mechanism that initiates the auto leve signall is located on the right side (passanger side) of the rear axle. With the car up, Its easy to locate visually. Its basically a switch connected to some simple mechanical linkages. Have a look in that general area. Make sure it's connected and that it moves freely.

thanks for the reply Phil. Does anyone have a shot of this mechanism? I'm going to get the car up on a lift this weekend.

The HIDs are pretty rare for this gen ES so the info is harder to come by. There are actually two sensors, 1 front and 1 rear, the leveling computer compares the two and adjusts the headlight level accordingly.

Check out some other threads here for the other models more common to have HIDs, like this https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...or-on-wtf.html to get an idea of what a level sensor looks like, it is going to be a dainty linkage attached to the suspension somewhere, connecting to a linkage arm that converts to a rotary motion sensor wired to the car. Unlike the sway bar links it will only be on one side of the suspension, 1 per axle.
