Unhappy Service advice

I recently purchased a '93 ES300 with 108,000 miles. The car came with no owners manual or service records, but runs like a top. I've had a great time reading as much as I can about this product and when driving it realize Lexus is something special (after having driven Saab and Volvo for years). I'm experiencing the well documented "dash-dim"; I have not been able to find consistant maintenence schedules: should I bite the bullet and change the timing belt and all fluids to just start anew? Should I use a synthetic oil at this mileage? What's this about the oil jelling?? I've also heard horror stories about Lexus dealers. I do know a guy who works a lot on Toyotas. Can someone like that do work on a Lex? I sure appreciate your help and advice. Thank you!!

yo sup mc lex, mm synthetic oil... i've been running Royal Purple on my '93 ES3 with 97k miles. almost to 100k yay!. anyways synthetic works great. of course i haven't legally started driving, but my dad's outta the country and my mom has no clue what my dad's been puttin in the thing, so i had to take it in for the oil change. synthetic has run great every since my dad took the car. it's been on synthetic for the past 30k miles, and it runs great. i've never heard anything about oil jelling on lex's
