Default Engine code P0136

My 2001 ES300 is getting an engine code "PO136". I believe it refers to the "bank one sensor two" oxygen sensor. Can anyone tell me where this sensor is located? Can it be changed from below the vehicle? Thanks in advance.

Ron

I dont remember if that was my code but i think it was and i had to change the 02 sensor in the back and it was a pain in the *** to change. I had to go from underneath the car to get to it .

Yes it can be changed from below the car because it is on the exhaust pipe. I'm not sure for your year model but I think the driver's seat has to be removed for access to the connector.

Thanks for the replys.

I'm hoping not to have to take out the driver's seat. Is there a way that I can find out for sure?

Put your car on a lift and take a look at the sensor wires. The problem is the connector, which is inside the car under the carpet. Cutting the wires to install a new sensor is not a wise option.

Hmmm, Sounds line a pain! Is there any way the connector can be accessed without removing the seat?
