I used to have silverstars and this problem wasnt as pronounced since the lights werent too powerful.
Now that i put in HIDs, i can clearly tell that my right headlight is not focused, it's as if the projector distorting the beam.

Is there anything i can do about this?

I took these pictures in daylight and it was drizzling so the detail isn't great but i think you can see what i am talking about.

 

Looks like you have a 2ES (92-96)? The projector lenses themselves can sometimes get dirty. You should try just cleaning the outside first, but the best way to solve this is to bake open your headlights and clean the projectors. It should clear up a lot of the blurryness.

 

Sorry that i failed to mention that yes it is a 2ES '95. I wetsanded the outsides of the lights, then buffed them with plastic polish a few days ago, as was described in a thread on here. The outside of the plastic is like new.

If it's an issue with the inside being dirty, i just might have to open it up...

 

So ive done some more research and the symptom kept relating back to the projector. Which made me realize that the one that is giving me a problem is aftermarket. I was in an accident a few years ago and i cracked my right headlight, the one that is giving me a problem.

After doing some research, im realizing that the lens inside the projector is probably slightly faulty or incorrectly aligned, causing the light to exit at a wrong angle... Im not sure if this can be fixed very easily

 

When I put aftermarket HID's in my car (3ES), I noticed the same thing. My lenses are nearly perfect and look brand new.

Previously the headlights had been level, but when I put in the aftermarket ones, one of them was projecting slightly higher than the other. I honestly don't know why this happens (might be the way the new bulbs throw off light), but I just played around with the adjustment screws until they were equal. I just had to "eyeball" it on the garage wall at night.

It hasn't been an issue since.

 

UPDATE...

I fixed the problem. I took the right bulb out, and turned it 120degrees clockwise. The bulb has 3 notches and the housing has 3 slots, so i just turned it to the next slot. Magically it now shows a perfectly sharp point, as the left one does.

I can't take a picture right now because it's snowing heavily.

It is probably a tiny defect in the notches of the HID bulb. Anyway, maybe this will help someone someday fix their unfocused lights.

 

Most likely you rotated that weird stick thing sticking out of the bulb to make it let out more light at whatever angle it was blocking/showing. I think somewhere on HIDplanet that did something along the lines of what you were experiencing. People would flip it to increase the sharpness of the cutoff or something like that
